Amila is a Sixth Age Imrhys Woman. She is an Orian Dragonrider. Major Life Events
Amila was born on Toberary 20, 13688. She is the daughter of Constanza the Wanderer, a second generation Imrhys. Constanza was staying in the country of Orian as a tutor for the Orian Royal family. Her sister, Marea, the Premier Scholar of Avalonia, came to Orian and was the midwife in charge of the birth. Amila spent her first number of years in and around the Orian Castle. She did not start speaking the Common tongue right away, but created her own private language. It was not until she made a trip to the ocean with her mother and sister that she started speaking. She was four. She got away from her mother and rushed to the end of one of the docks. Several dolphins rose to the surface and started to talk to her in dolphini. Amila responded in her own squeaky language. The dolphins were able to communicate to Amila what Constanza had been unable to do; Amila started speaking the Common tongue in full sentences the following day.
When Amila was 10, she snuck into the annual Dragon Hatching in Orian through one of the air passages. A silvery dragon hatches from one of the eggs. The silver dragon ignores all the adult sentients gathered around the hatchlings, and goes directly to the air passage where Amila was hiding. The dragon hatchling sent the name 'Manticore' in to Amila's brain. The two were linked, and Amila became the youngest Dragonrider.
In 13708, Amila is on patrol with Manticore when they are attacked by many possessed mojoan vampires. She falls off Manitcore and and escapes into the labyrinth of caves in the mountains above Newcastle. Amila ends up in the cavern of Kneeonica. She finds Kneeonica the Dragon Sword. The intelligent sword jump starts Amila's Awakening and she uses her new power to save Manticore. She hurries to the capital city and finds the possessed have taken over the city. Constanza was battling Mojoa himself as Invera, hidden from Amila's view, possessed her. Amila and a few other Dragonriders, fly towards the Isles of Metcalf. Amila is in the midst of the Fourth Gnarrhys War. The first three books - Castle Zierath, The Basalt Mace, and The Stone Dees - cover this time period. Artwork by Amy Hillesland. Orian
is a country with many dragons. One breed of dragon telepathically
links with another sentient shortly after the dragon's hatching,
making the sentient a Dragonrider. The hatching takes place in
the fall at the Royal Castle Aerie.
