Early Life
Daveed
was born in 3487 in the country of Hunt. He was the son of a sailor-turned-park-ranger
and a seamstress.
It
was a time of upheaval and distrust among the races. The Gotts,
the Huntian royal family, subtly encouraged the human majority
to consider all non-humans sentients second class citizens. The
Gotts further encouraged the peach humans to think of themselves
better than the browns, coppers, or goldens.
Rather than believing the messages that were taught by the educational
system of the time, Daveed went to the source. He befriended and
got to know members of the other races.
Awakening
He
grew very disdainful and mocking of the racist groups of his own
peach human ancestry, and decided to see how far he could push
a mocking. In 3507, he 'joined' the loudest of the bunch - the
'Peach Human First Group' or 'the Figs'. He convinced a number
of the members that peach humans with brown eyes are inferior
to those with blue or green. Already brainwashed in that general
direction, the blue eyed Figs started to believe him and a resolution
was put before the Figs council to start excluding the
brown-eyed
peach humans from the Figs. After a number of meetings, a number
of the brown-eyed Figs followed him and found him eating and laughing
with a number of elves and brown humans. They returned to the
rest of the Figs and set a trap for Daveed.
At the next meeting, after his rant, the Figs fell on him with
the intention of killing him. The attack triggered his Imrhys
Awakening. Energy exploded out of him. The Fig meeting building
was destroyed. Pieces of it are found a hundred miles away.
Daveed used his powers to bring down the supremacist group and
started to work to change the country. He met resistance from
the Gotte Royal family and the other supremacist groups of several
different races.
Training
The
Imrhys Luther and Larsen found Daveed and take him the Crossing
to train him. He stayed in the Crossing for 90 years.
Huntian
Universities
In
3600 AI, he returned to Hunt and found that very little had changed.
He built his first Huntian University to help spread the word
of acceptance. In 3602, King Bartholemew V of Hunt had his soldiers
disguise themselves as peasants. They burnt the university to
the ground. Daveed immediately began to rebuild, and it is burnt
down again in 3610. Daveed rebuilt again.
In
3614, the university was burnt down again. Oddly enough, at the
same moment as the disguised soldiers burn down the university,
the soldiers’ barracks and the palace catch on fire. Daveed
could not be implicated because he was in the coliseum watching
the chariot races. He rebuilt for the fourth time, and two years
later, disguised soldiers burnt the university down again, as
did the barracks and the palace. The university was rebuilt again,
and Daveed lent money to the royal family to rebuild the palace
and the barracks.
In
3618 AI, Bartholemew V died, leaving his son Ignatius I in control
of the country. Rather than making Daveed a competitor, Ignatius
enrolled his son Marcus in the Huntian University and had Daveed
join the royal council. Over the next centuries, Daveed set up
satellite schools throughout the Isles of Hovde.
The
Second Gnarrhys War
In
4807, at the start of the Second Gnarrhys War, Daveed battled
the Second Gnarrhys Lord on the Campused Colony. He and several
other Imrhys tried to seal the Second into ground. The Second
was able to burst out of the idyllic island, creating a massive
crator at the center of it. Daveed survived, although two Imrhys
and thousands of inhabitants died.
Realizing
the danger that the Isles of Hovde were to him, the Second sent
the Dathrhys Lords Reynold and Jarduk to take over the islands.
In 4822, the Dathrhys take ovver Hunt. The Gotte royal family
is killed, and Daveed, Colletta, Phyllis, and Luther are driven
into hiding and Reynold sets himself up as the Tyrant of the Isles.
In
4833, Luther and Daveed go to a dungeon on Phyllistine to free
it of its prisoners. Unfortunately, Reynold, Jarduk, Jurandez,
and Jahn-Krant were at the dungeon on an inspection and torture
tour. Luther was killed and Daveed barely escaped.
In
4668 AI, Daveed and several other Imrhys led their forces and
drove the Dathrhys off of the Isles of Hovde. On the remains of
the first Hunt Spire, Daveed and Reynold faced off and Daveed
managed to kill the Tyrant of the Isles. With the royal family
dead, the people of Hunt elect Daveed to rule them as the Pope
of Education.
Melanie
During
the Third Age, Daveed, Phyllis, and Colletta became more and more
important in the education and international judiciary. They were
aided by Melanie, one of Daveed's students. Melanie was the administrative
governor of the southern most island Hoffner. She would send Daveed
reports, and after several centuries, she suspected he was not
reading the reports. In 7503, as a test - and to teach the pope
a lesson - she snuck a proposal that made her queen of Hoffner.
Daveed signed it, and Melanie became queen, much to his chagrin.
Melanie joined the council as a full member the following year..
The
Third Gnarrhys War
In
10051, during the Third Gnarrhys War, Savaron attacked the Isles
of Hovde. Daveed and Olin, the Bearer of the Sapphire Halberd,
drive the Gnarrhys Lord off, but Daveed was pierced by many of
Savaron's black knives and was mortally wounded. Olin was unwilling
to see his old teacher die and channelled his lifeforce through
the Sapphire Halberd. Olin healed Daveed, but Olin completely
drained himself and died. Together with the other Hovden leaders,
Daveed staved off several attacks by Savaron.
The
Sapphire Halberd
Daveed
became the protector of the Sapphire Halberd, but he was never
the wielder. In 10,450 AI, a Fourth Age Imrhys by the name of
Xhiong with the reputation of being a first rate thief snuck into
Daveed's palace and stole the Sapphire Halberd. Much to Xhiong's
surprise, Daveed was overjoyed that the Halberd had finally chosen
a new wielder.
The
Fourth Gnarrhys War
In
13,708, the Fourth Gnarrhys War started, and Daveed was one of
the first that Zierath went to for aid. The first three books
- Castle Zierath, The Basalt Mace, and The Stone Dees - cover
this time period.
