Aerock

Aerock is a Fifth Age Imrhys man. He is the husband of Laurstra. He is an artist and a ship captain.

History

As with all Imrhys, Laurstra has lived a very long time. While many of the events of her life have been recorded, there are still many that have yet to be recorded.

The Fifth Age (10,001-12,500 AI)

Early Life

Aerock was raised in a culture that feared magic and, in particular, Imrhys. The current overlords of the disintegrating Jordanian Empire, Aeole and Dore, were Imrhys and were not gentle in their use of people. They also feared other Imrhys Awakening because they worried that they might defeated just as they had defeated their ancestor Jordan.

Aerock was born into a stone mason family. From early on, he showed great ability with stone as well as with painting. He also showed a knack for magic, which his parents carefully hid.

The Imrhys Testing

As a right of passage into adulthood, all humans in the Aeolic Empire were tested with a purplish metal that reacts the magic that infuses Imrhys blood on A Day Between Years 0 of the year they turned 20. It was a big public spectacle in all the large cities of the empire. The purplish metal is forged into a hook and laid, burning hot, on the 20 year old's arm. Most humans merely scream, but for an Imrhys, lightning explodes off of the hook.

Aerock was tested, and lightning exploded off of the hook. He was about to be summarily executed, but three Imrhys - Laurstra, Dan'l the Wang, and Jen of the Hylands - were hidden in the crowd. The three Fourth Age Imrhys rescued him. The Aeolic Knight leadership and the Prosecuters are decimated in the attack. Aerock joined them in their efforts to defeat Aeole.

Awakening

On Dekruary 2, 12006, the Imrhys and their army skirmish with Aeole and his personal guard. Aeole made a stand outside of Jordan’s home town of Dekra. He ambushed and badly wounded Jen of the Hylands.  Dan’l punched the mad emperor across the river. He did not pursue. He turned to Jen of the Hylands and spent many hours holding her, sending his power into her to help her heal.

Laurstra and Aeole fought, and Laurstra was losing. Aerock Awakened and blasted Aeole with a powerful avalanch of earth magic. Aeole lost the Crown of Jordan, which gave him the edge he needed to face the multiple Imrhys, and he fled. Aerock then healed Laurstra, mimicking the technique that Dan'l used on Jen of the Hylands.

The Fall of Aeole and Dore

On Noon Year 2, 12007, Aerock, Dan'l, Jen of the Hylands, and Laurstra chased Aeole to the border town of Stouie where Annie, Kunce, and Smehren had fought Dore for six months. Aeole and Dore battled each other and get so focused on each other that they didn't see the seven Imrhys sneak up on them. All nine Imrhys went to the bottom of the Zeppini River, and Aeole and Dore are sealed into the river bottom.

Annie, Kunce, Smehren, Aerock, Laurstra, Jen of the Hylands, and Dan'l  turned to the political arena and choose a member of the house of Jordan to be the new emperor of the Aeolic Empire and the Doric Empire . Both men were powerful administrators and cautious peacekeepers. In their lifetimes, the Aeolic and Doric Empires did not war against each other.

The Marriage of Laurstra and Aerock

Laurstra and Aerock are married on Santil 18, 12117.

The Sixth Age (12,501-15,000 AI)

The Fourth Gnarrhys War (13,706-13,710 AI)

When Zierath went AWOL, Queen Annie ordered Laurstra to track him down and return him to Castle Zierath. As the captain of her ship the ZANS Willow, Aerock accompanied her. Laurstra did her best, but her fellow Grand Admiral Darynbruch - and Zierath's step-brother - interfered. When the hunt was called off, she discovered that she had not been chasing Zierath at all but rather Captain Paul Black on board the Excelsior who had been mimicking Zierath green aura. Laurstra was quite irritated.

The Battle of Maz City

While Laurstra went to see Mattew, the commander-in-chief of the massive army, Aerock waited outside the tent. When the possessed Imrhys and their armies were summoned, Aerock was in the midst of the battle. He faced off against the possessed Lady Lark and Stumme.

One hundred thousand troops are freed by the Imrhys. They are loaded onto the massive Armada, and they headed towards the Isles of Metcalf.

The Colossus Massacre

As the Fleet sailed by the Colossus of Maret, it was attacked by thousands of Dathrhys, led by the Unknown. Laurstra and Aerock fought off the possessed Andr'u and Bresky. Their ship the ZANS Willow was then attacked by Kartookine. They fought it until the Jolly Elmo drove it off. 100,000 sentients were killed in the battle.

The Stone Dees

Aerock was chosen as Ka'Senne's and the Copper Shield's slicer. He accompanied the Nine Bearers of Light, the other slicers, and to the Mausoleum of the Imrhys. Aerock followed Ka'Senne, and the Stone Rook through the wormhole to the Stone Dees. Aerock battled many Dathrhys and possessed sentients, including Innux. With help from Aerock and the Stone Rook, Ka'Senne was able to destroy Innux. Aerock was a witness to the destruction of Vampyre.

The Seventh Age (15,001-17,500 AI)

Aerock's activities for the Seventh Age have not been recorded.

The Eighth Age (17,501-20,000)

Aerock's activities for the Eighth Age have not been recorded.

The Fifth Gnarrhys War (18829-)

Aerock's activities for the Fifth Gnarrhys War have not been recorded.

The Future

Laurstra survived the Fifth Gnarrhys War and is still a major character in the world.
