Dougiano

Dougiano is a Fourth Age Imrhys. He is the husband of Sherrysmith.

History

The Fourth Age (7501-10,000 AI)

Early Life

Dougiano was born on Toberary 29, 9000. He is a native of the large island country of Iano.

Awakening

Dougiano's Awakening is unrecorded.

Warez

By 9075, the Second Age Imrhys Warez had heard about the mild-mannered Imrhys man in Iano. Warez, seeking a disciple, travelled down to Iano. The power-mad Warez convinced Dougiano that he was a force for good. Dougiano agreed to travel north.

Dougiano stayed with Warez on and off until 9115 when Warez's true colors showed. Throughout the years, Dougiano had gotten hints that Warez was not as nice as he pretended. They set up camp near the village of Dekra. Warez waited until he thought Dougiano was asleep, and then sneaked out. Dougiano was not asleep and followed his mentor. Warez attacked a secluded cabin, killing the husband. He was about to rape the wife when Dougiano interceded. The woman escaped, and Warez and Dougiano fight. Dougiano was evenutally overcome, and Warez sealed him into a statue in a cave just outside of Dekra.

The Glowing Man

Dougiano was sealed in the statue for two years. A young human, Stort Regan explored a cave and found the petrified form of Dougiano. Dougiano, who had been absorbing energy for two years, woke up, causing the stone he had been sealed in to explode. Regan was clipped by one of the stone fragments. Dougiano healed him and then stumbled away into the darkness. Regan started the Festival of the Glowing Man the following year.

Sherismith

Dougiano fled back home to Iano and went into hiding. While hiding, he discovered another Imrhys, Sherismith. They fall in love and marry in 9133 AI. Dougiano set up a shop as a clockmaker while Sherismith continued to work at her metalworking shop.

The Pericales Dictatorship

The oppressive regime of Pericales started to make both Sherismith and Dougiano very nervous as it expanded. They both experienced nightmares about the Dictatorship, and Warez appeared in Dougiano's dream as well.

A large group of Imrhys arrived in Iano and sought out Dougiano and Sherismith. The oracle Annie led the Imrhys right to their shop. The other Imrhys - Zierath, the Karland, Dan'l the Wang, Bresky, Smehren, Kunce, Melissa, and Dykstra - convinced Dougiano and Sherismith to put aside their shop for a while to help them battle the Pericales Dictatorship.

Jordan

Annie's Boding Time Sense led the group up to Dekra. She knew that a neo-Imrhys was going to be born to Gutri Barleson and Gretyl Noelsdatter, the chiefs of the small tribe. On Bruil 8, 9187, Jordan Gurtison was born. Dougiano, Sherismith, Dysktra, and Bresky took turns living off the land and guarding Jordan.

While Dougiano was guarding Jordan, the other Imrhys discover that Dougiano's old mentor, Warez, was true power behind the throne.

Jordan grew to adulthood and went off to battle the forces of Pericales. After two victories, the Dekrans returned to their valley and settled in for the winter. Breaking tradition, Pericales sent his army to exterminate the human tribes of Watroo and Dekra. Warez and Pericales send in a fire giant assassination squad. Gutri and Gretyl are killed by the fire giants, and Dougiano just barely saves Jordan.

Dougiano was one of the Imrhys to help the survivors of Dekra and Watroo flee to the safety of the elves of Kawzeerah Castle.

The Fall of a Dictatorship

The Dekran Alliance surged across the river in early 9207. Realizing that Warez was the most dangerous opponent, Dougiano, Sherismith, Zierath, Dykstra, and Bresky make a direct attack towards the Second Age Imrhys. They drive Warez back and wound him badly enough that he flees, leaving Pericales on his own.

The Jordanian Empire

After the Fall of Pericales, Jordan and Heatra stepped into the political void and created the Jordanian Empire. As a gift for the crowning, Dougiano and Sherismith created the Crown of Jordan.

Dougiano and Sherismith were brought onto the Imperial Council as the other Imrhys returned to their homelands far to the west.

The Children of Jordan

Timthy, Jordan and Heatra's first child, was born on Toberary 3, 9209, and Gutri, their second child was born on Gothober 5, 9211.

A former ally of Pericales, Duke Ossi of Stouis, killed the Crown Prince Timthy with poison. Jordan was barely able to save his second son, Gutri, from death. Jordan chased down Duke Ossi. Dougiano and Sherismith followed. Jordan nearly killed Duke Ossi outright, but was convinced by Dougiano and Sherismith that the laws of the land must be upheld. Ossi was taken into custody. After a lengthy trial, Ossi was executed.

Dougiano and Sherismith remained with the Royal Council through the reign of Jordan II, and then returned to their quiet life in Iano.

The Third Gnarrhys War

Dougiano's role in the Third Gnarrhys War is unrecorded.

The Return of the Western Imrhys

After years of peaceful existence, Annie brought the Imrhys back to Iano. Once again, the Imrhys convinced Dougiano and Sherismith to set aside their peaceful pursuits and take up arms against Warez.

The Battle of Vada Coast

A three way battle between the forces of Aeole, Dore, and Warez was waging when the 12 Imrhys and their armies join in, scattering the other three armies. Warez, pursued by Zierath, Dykstra, the Karland, Bresky, Dougiano, and Sherismith, flees north. Aeole, followed by Dan'l the Wang, Jen of the Hylands, and Laurstra, flees northeast. Dore, hunted by Annie, Kunce, and Smehren, flees south.

The Weazards

Bresky, Dougiano, Dykstra, the Karland, Zierath, and Sherismith follow Warez north through Tario and across the weazards lands. Warez forces the the weazards to attack the pack of six Imrhys. Hail, thunder, lightning, blizzards, heat, rain, sleet, tornadoes, and hurricanes struck the six Imrhys, and each attack was met with stoic resolve.

Bresky and Dykstra break through the wall of storms and attacked Warez. Warez battled them and flung them aside.

As Warez battled the two Imrhys, Gandrial, the chief weazard, arranged with her fellow weazards, to turn the storms on Warez.

The distracted Warez was bombarded by every type of storm possible. Warez turned on Gandrial, who cried out that her death was well worth the freedom of her people. Warez cut her down as the other Imrhys -Zierath, the Karland, Dougiano, Sherismith - arrive.

Warez flees further north and was becoming more desperate as the vengeful Imrhys followed him.

The Entombing of Warez

They chased him up deep into North Loyalund, finally battling him in Atteny. Desperate, Warez allowed himself to be possessed by Jahn-Crant, a Type Three Gnarrhys. The six Imrhys seal the possessed Warez into a mountain, locking him in with the six Keys of Warez.

The six Imrhys then hide the six Keys of Warez, knowing at some point others would have strengthen the seal on Warez's prison.
