History

As with all Imrhys, Khuillin has lived a very long time. While many of the events of her life have been recorded, there are still many that have yet to be recorded.

The Sixth Age (12,501-15,000 AI)

Early Life

Khuillin Kahn is born on Gothober 13, 13557 AI. She was a member of the royal house which had a long tradition of producing Imrhys. Her elder brother Khuintin is first in line to the throne. Their younger sister Avi is born a couple years later.

Khuintin Kahn's Awakening

Khuintin Kahn was rehearsing for play that he was perfoming in. His sister, Khuillin Kahn, was watching the dress rehearsal. She got very involved in the play. Khuintin was in a fight scene and in it he was 'killed'. He got a little carried away and started an avalanch that bears down on his fellow actor. Khuintin's Imrhys power Awoke and he threw the rocks in a nearby gorge, thereby saving his friend's life. In that area of Kahn, if the play's name is mentioned, nearby rock structures may collapse and will then be thrown into the closest gorge.

Khuillin Kahn's Awakening

Khuillin Kahn and her sister Avi snuck away from the formal dinner. They went to one of the tunnels nearby and started to spar. Khuillin kicked her sister through one of the support beams and the roof started to collapse on them. Khuillin Awakened and sent the stones careening down the tunnel, thus creating what is essentially the Kahnish subway system. They were surprised they survived.

Draygon

In 13670, while deep in the underground part of Kahn, Khuillin met the disfigured Imrhys lord Draygon, Lord of the Veil, who claimed he had repented his past and was trying to make up for it. Even though many old stories told of his wickedness, Khuillin took the chance on his honesty. Draygon took her deep into the Achar, showing her the Veil and telling her about the Father sealed within the Veil.

Khuillin kept her meetings with him secret until she could figure out a way to re-introduce him into Imrhys society.

The Fourth Gnarrhys War (13,706-13,710 AI)

Possessed

In Juni of 13708, Khuillin accompanied Lisawit in a diplomatic trip to visit the Sailor in Jeamany. While they were there, the island nation is attacked by Gnarrhys possessed sentients. They were overwhelmed by nine posseseed Imrhys - the Stone Rook, Visintainer, Constanza, Alamap, Angeno, Stumme, Timzick, Braithe and DeeDee. Khuillin was grabbed by the Stone Rook, covered in the will-numbing Gnarrhys stuff, and then shadowwalked back to Innux, who applied his reinforcing essence to ensure her subservience.

The Veil

Innux rifled through Khuillin's mind and discovered her secret meetings with Draygon. Not wanting Draygon to interfere with his plans, he sent Khuillin to the Underground Kingdom to possess Draygon. When she passed through the Veil, it stripped the Gnarrhys stuff off of her, and she was free.

Draygon took care of her as she recovered from the possession. She also discovered that the independent vampire queen Lilith of the Makhita’tan clan was also hiding in Undergound Kingdom to avoid being possessed.

Joining the Cause

Rumors of a massive Imrhys gathering in the Isles of Metcalf reach the Underground Kingdom. Khuillin Kahn encouraged Draygon and Lilith to join the fight. They discovered that a colony of Abatwaran Manteans created a hive beneath the Isles of Metcalf. They met Andreea, the Mad Hatter, and Metcalf first, and then joined the other Imrhys in pooling knowledge. Her knowledge of Ancient Kahnnish came in handy as she read an account of the First Gnarrhys War.

Slicing

Khuillin joined the massive fleet heading to Deanne. While there, she tested to see if she could slice through the Gnarrhys-stuff energy pattern. She could, and became a very valuable asset to the overall fight.

The Stone Dees

The fleet made a landing on the northern shore of the Deannish continent to pull the possessed army out position. They then used Avalonia to make a sudden attack from the woods surrounding the Dees. Vampyre used a lot of its power to shadowwalk the possessed army back into position.

Khuillin was matched up with her friend Draygon. The two of them faced the possessed Sailor. Combining their power, they were able to free her from the Gnarrhys-stuff. Draygon then spread his Veil cloak over a large area, freeing the possessed in the area. Draygon was then targeted by the Dathrhys in the area.

Khuillin and Draygon were joined by Smehren, Mattew, and Phyllis who defended Draygon from a couple of frigs. Khuillin also had to defend Draygon from Salina, who mistook the deformed Imrhys for a Datrhys.

Draygon over-extended the Veil, and the Father was able to break out of his ages old prison. Draygon leapt through the yellow D to battle the Father, leaving Khuillin behind.

Statistics and Descriptions at a glance

Name: Khuillin Kahn
Race: Imrhys
Birthdate: Gothober 13, 13557
Birthplace: Khuirrill City, Kahn

Aura Color: Iridescent Black

Personality: Fairly outgoing and direct in her approach to people. Although she's adept at lying it doesn't usually occur to her to do so and so, for the most part, is very honest. Unless she has some reason to be diplomatic about it, you will always know exactly where you stand with her and she appreciates the same information in kind. That being said she is rarely rude and works well with others, even those she doesn't like. She's not a big fan of rules. If they make sense she follows them (in a spirit rather than letter of the law way) and if they don't make sense she ignores them. If caught breaking a rule, she will accept her punishment (unless it's unreasonably ridiculous, like death) and then explain the 15 reasons why that rule doesn't make sense in the first place and the rule she thinks should replace it. In short, she's open and talkative so you will know what she thinks and why she thinks it and then you'll be asked your opinion on it as well.

Writing for the character

Khuillin is intelligent and active. She is constantly evaluating and collating information, but can get lost in thought, especially when an important decision needs to be made and she's just received a new piece of difficult information. She will agonize over a decision, trying to see all possible permutations and evaluating the pros and cons, but once she makes a decision she moves with a force of will that rivals a hurricane and rarely, if ever, changes her mind or regrets her decision. The rare instances when this happens are invariably centered on a lack of information that she either should have had access to and was denied/kept silent (which will earn the keeper of such knowledge her ire) or she had access to but somehow overlooked (which results in much kicking of self and a tendency to become more anal about details).

Though she is very direct, she doesn't say everything she's thinking, particularly if it might be unjustified or hurtful. She's good at lying, but doesn't do it much. She's more apt not to say anything or to say something noncommittal and diplomatic before changing the subject should someone ask more than she feels they ought to.

Though she's friendly and open, she keeps her mouth shut and evaluates when she's in new situations or among new people or people she isn't comfortable with. These people will sometimes forget she's in the room until she suddenly cracks an observant joke. Generally this means that she is now comfortable and will start to chatter which she is prone to. Her humor tends to be dry, sarcastic and often self deprecating or self aggrandizing by turns. She is often flirtatious though, for her, it's almost never sexual but rather a bawdy matching of wits at which she tends to excel. Though she enjoys bawdy humor she very rarely results to crude humor.

Khuillin has a good memory for detail, usually recalling exact quotes from anything she's read or facial expression and tone (more than exact phrasing) from things she's heard or random details from paintings she's looked at or the fact that the last time she saw you you were having a bad hair day. That being said, she knows a lot of people and will sometimes confuse your details with someone else's, but she's happy to be corrected and will remember the next time you see her. Although she knows a lot of people, very few are in her inner circle of friends and even most of them do not know everything about her or even exactly how she'll react to something. Those few are very dear to her (these are usually family or people she will assign family monikers to) and she is extremely protective of them.

Khuillin has a tendency to be on the self-righteous side of things. There are very few things she has very firm opinions on, but those few things are fixed and she allows very little in the way of leniency or what she considers to be wrong. When you cross that line she has no compunctions about telling you how you crossed it and why it was wrong and how you can do better in the future. Even at these times, if the person is a friend, she'll try to moderate what she is saying so that it is less hurtful than it would be otherwise.
