Frank the Harbormaster was an amphibian mutant.

History: Caryn Hawke was the superheroine the Scarlet Songbird. She had a child Dinah who she put up for adoption. Dinah was adopted by the Frank family.

Caryn was in Paragon City during the Rikti invasion and helped Statesman at one point.

After the war, she was hired by the Federal Bureau of Superhuman Affairs as an investigator. She and her partner Randall Black were assigned to investigate an explosion in the Reeve Theater on the Paragon University campus. While there, she met her daughter again. The interaction was not pleasant.

Rylie was a troubled child and had difficulty fitting in at the high class private school her grandparents enrolled her in. Though her English was good and her marks were above average, she was teased and picked on by her predominantly white upper crust classmates, and her classes failed to hold her interest. At the age of 16, she dropped out of school and was soon recruited by the militant extremist 5th Column organization.

Rylie excelled at combat training and possessed natural leadership ability, rising quickly to the top of her unit. Coupled with her charisma and her willingness to do anything for advancement, she soon came to the attention of her superiors and was selected for the Column's top secret gene therapy project. After undergoing treatment, Rylie was stronger, faster, and more resilient than her peers and was promoted to a leadership command, with a promising military future ahead of her.

All that came to a crushing end, however, when an internal struggle backed by alien means broke the 5th Column and the Council emerged victorious. Her future shattered, Rylie deserted her command and picked her way though the various villain organizations of Paragon City, eventually selling her services, both military and otherwise, to the Skyraider mercenary group as personal assistant to Sergeant Clayton. Despising her job and ultimately herself, she began a downward spiral of alcohol and depression into oblivion.

A chance encounter in a rundown gin-joint in Brickstown would change her life. She happened to walk in at the same time that Talon Wesley, better known as Aegis Mighty and thorn in the side of Crey Industries, happened to be enjoying an after-hours lager. After a mutual agreement not to beat the living hell out of each other, Talon was able to convince Rylie that there had to be something better for her to devote her life to. She accompanied him on a raid of a Crey laboratory that very night, acquiring for herself a proto-type battlesuit, and their partnership was struck.

Talon's ultimate goal was to bring media attention to the Countess Crey's unethical practices, and Rylie followed him more for the thrill of the hunt than anything else. A tenuous lead had suggested that the horrifying 'zombots' plaguing the city might perhaps be the cast-offs of the Revenant Hero Project and Rylie had taken to following them around the city and laying a righteous beating upon them at every opportunity. It was during one such foray that she encountered the hero known as Starburst Kid. It seemed that he too was interested in the zombots and his information revealed that they in fact had no connection to Crey at all. He was young and deathly ill with a virus that he had contracted while fighting the hideous things, and some last vestige of compassion compelled Rylie to help him. She hadn't counted on the bond that was inexplicably forged between them that day.

Rylie spent more and more time assisting Starburst Kid as he followed his leads, the bond between them growing stronger with each passing day until one night after a particularly grueling battle they professed their love for one another beneath a star filled Talos Island sky.

Rylie joined Starburst Kid's hero organization, the Angels of Wrath, but her time there, and her relationship with the young man, was short lived. Shortly after an altercation between the Angels and an uneasy alliance between the Malta Group and Crey Industries, during which Angel Tower in Skyway City was destroyed, Rylie cut all ties to the group and moved on. She was soon approached by the Lady Moiread, a former Angel and respected leader, who asked Rylie to join the Protectors of Paragon City. She enjoys a position of Elder in that organization to this day.

Deeply affected by the losses in her life, Rylie remains distant and often cold, never allowing herself to connect to people. There are few she will speak to and fewer whom she allows herself to trust. Her complete loyalty lies with the Protectors, where she lives by the words 'Death and dishonour before betrayal'.

Above all else, she misses Starburst Kid.

History: Born after his mother Crystal Stone received genetic alterations for intellect. He was concieved with high intelligence, but deformed. As a result he his limbs are cybernetic and powered by a prototype fusion generator. His machine parts are structural titanium covered by depleted uranium plating. Over his organics, he wears woven chargable ceramic sheeting layered with a liquid armor for trauma protection. He normally wields a massive double bit axe but also has an energy wave projector on one arm, and a pair of tactical lasers in his helmet. Overall, a friendly light hearted man who normally loves to laugh but has been weighed down by recent events.

During her teens, Liz, Crystal's sister, ran off in a jealous fit over Crystals accomplishments. Some Circle of Thorns caught her and gave her as a gift to an Agony Mage. He used her for target practice for a couple of weeks until she managed to hurt one of his guards. In a rage he tore out her eye and sold her to some Banished Pantheon. The Pantheon had a specific purpose in mind, It seemed her torture had special meaning to them. HCA 01 attempted to rescue her, but his contact sent me to the wrong base, so he was late. When he got there, the so-called ceremony had just completed and Elizabeth was almost dead. She was lying nude and bleeding on some kind of alter; a couple of limbs seemed broken and her rib cage was cracked hindering her breathing. Claw marks covered most of her. HCA 01 managed to beat what happened out of one of them. Their Shaman was trying to fulfill a prophecy by have an Overlord breed her. The damn thing got too rough in the process; so they just wrote off the attempt and left her there to die. HCA 01 killed all those who attacked his aunt.

History: Caleb 'Tay' Taylor came to Paragon City in the waning days of the Rikti War.

Tay works as a coach of track and swimming for the Paragon City Junior High.

While he was working with the students, the Hellion and Skull war that had boiled over into the Junior High.Tay's abnormally intense hearing picked up the growing turmoil, allowing his fast reaction to get the kids into the locker rooms and hide them there. He had raced into his office and dressed in a makeshift Heat Flux costume that he kept stashed in one of his file cabinets., then he waded into the war.

And hour after the fighting began, he stood in the field with the bodies of unconcious gang members around him, and in his arms was a wounded child, one that had paniced and left the safety of the locker rooms. After that, it was only a miracle that he had any students left at all. He had managed to keep his identity a secret, but in the time it took to get into uniform, a child had almost lost his life.

Two weeks after this incident, Tay was offered the assistant coaching position for the Swim Team at Paragon City University.

Tay is dating Aleisha.

History: Helsinger begun as a practicing psychologist, specializing in treating children, and been fascinated with the amount of power and influence such a position wielded. Influencing, directing, warping the mind was deceptively simple. All it took was time, patience, and will.

Helsinger lost his license to practice due in part to Helen Markov's (Steele Magnolia) foster father.

He'd been drawn into the ranks of the 5th column not long after losing his license to practice, after one too many complaints. He hadn't been subtle enough, meticulous enough, then. So he'd become someone else, a new name, a new face, a new body honed with countless hours of effort. Now, after years of working his way through the ranks, his efforts had borne dark fruit, his achievements recognized. He was a powerful and influential man, doing what he loved best. Playing God. For that was the essence of his art. A good interrrogator, torturer, and brainwasher became everything to his subject. Every bite of food, every drop of water, every moment of rest, pain, suffering, all things baneful and blessed all the way down to simple access to restroom facilities came from his hand, all according to his will. In the contest of endurance, though demanding and exhausting to be all these things, the subject inevitably lost, acknowledging her total dependence upon him.

History: Lucilla Giovanni is the daughter of Italian immagrants (Sicily, specifically). She always had some small spark for magic. It was just never developed or tested, until she was on a trip the summer between my Junior and Senior year at New York University. They were looking for an ancient temple in the Amazon Basin, and they found it. It turned out that it was not quite as unused as one would think, not to mention the junior of the two professors leading the trip betrayed them and cut a deal with the tribesmen that still worshiped the ancient moon goddess the temple. One of our group was killed by the tribesmen and the rest of the group was captured. Lucilla was to be the sacrifice to the goddess, and during the ceremony, she was pulled into Ka-ata-killa, the shadow realm where she supposedly sleeps. At first, it was as cold, dark and silent to me as to any of you, but then she felt the chilling magical power of the realm fill her, and could see that world for what it was, in shades of grey. She was able to go back to the temple, defeat the tribesmen and free the other professor that had been captured and escape.

Lucilla is currently a graduate student at Paragon University; Professor Howards is her dissertation advisor. She is also the Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Archaeology, and is translating Cretan tablets for Professor White.

As Hollow, she is the leader of Knights of Paragon.

Lucilla had been asked to help save the remaining members of the D’Ascenzo family from an ancient curse that had hounded the family all the way from their ancestral home in Venezia Italy. Despite the best efforts of Lucilla and her friend Rebecca Charity, seven of the remaining D’Ascenzo’s had died before they had been able to break the curse.

While working on a Sunday, she met Mark Hanes (Steel Dragon) who was serving community service by cleaning the Archaeology collection.

Family Sister married Jenny Nagle, Brother in law Master Sgt Robert Nagle also a lifer with the Column /Council.

Holman was the staff sergeant put in charge of training the squad that Lx (American Valor) - in the desguise of Ishmael Jones - was in. Lx and Holman took an instant dislike to each other.

Holman was one of the three survivors of a Meta Force's raid against the Council and Crey, along with Lx and Javier Santos. The three clamed to have killed the superhero Vengent which got them the attention of the officers. Lx/Jonahs challenged Holman to a training duel.

Holman went to the Dog Pound and got 14 disciplinary problem recruits for Lx/Jonahs to train, with orders for them to kill Lx/Jonahs.

History: Joey Swift was the younger brother of football star Jamie. He was eating with his parents and brother in Founder's Falls when the Rikti invaded. They decided to hurry back home on the Red Line. They made it back to Baumton when the power went out. The train catapulted off the tracks and crashed. Everyone except for Joey was critically injured or killed in the crash.

After the Rikti War, Swift got a job as a Pizza Delivery Guy, until he participated in a taste test that changed his life. The sportdrink, which contained a prototype formula that enhanced his physical prowess and to a degree, his mental abilities. It also permenantly increased his metabolism 100 fold, causing him to become superfast whenever he is hyperactive. Thus he was dubbed: Hyper-Man .

He became a member of Thugbuster Inc and moved into room 1222 of the Whitmoore Apartment Complex. He met and befriended Corvus Babel.

He rescued the woman who became known as Thunder-Girl from being sacrificed by the Circle of Thorns. He managed to acquire the strange and foreign book called the Book of Ajauntis. Hyper-Man gave the book to Dr. Brinnell, who sent it over to MAGI for further investigation and had been waiting for a call.

For some reason, he did find himself in Pinnacle Apartments. He got word from Dr. Brinnell, and was able to reunite the amnesiac Thunder-Girl with her parents.

Lady Damned went looking for Hyper-man at his pizza place job. She got Hyperman, but she also drew other Whitmoore residents, including Corvus Babel, Blood Wolffe, Vincent, Hyperman, Detective Frost, and Inklings, hurry to fight her. Their combined efforts defeat Lady Damned, with Inklings getting the final hit in. She was sent to the Zigg.

During the fight, Hyperman was knocked out. The mercenary Speed Star captured him for the business man Julian Kurgan who was looking for the Book of Ajauntis. Hyperman was tortured by Kurgan.
