History: Gevin Riley was born in a suburb of Seattle. He joined the army on a scholarship program offerered to people whoscore very well on the ASFAB, was singled out after rifle qualifications, underwent psych evals and ended up here, fighting mutants and monsters and such.
The US Army has chosen a few, elite
troops to help aid the heroes of Paragon City in their fight
against the invading Rikti and the foriegn powers of the Council.
Metaforces (a branch of Special Forces), operates inside and
outside of the city, aiding heroes. NCOs, WOs and other enlisted
or specialty officers are forbidden from leading groups of
Metas. Riley is the only non Meta to survive as long as he
has in Metaforces, facing the kinds of threats that the heroes
around him deal with. Every woman he's ever cared about has
either tragically died or disappeared.
Riley has spent time in Boomtown with a hero named Pharoe's Cat. They drove an old civilian humvee around in the gravel pit blasting rap music and attracting 5th Column soldiers and sniping them down.
Riley and some of his friends got drunk and called a super hero date line. Riley really offended someone because this really big girl showed up and destroyed his barracks. Riley received housing from the city at the Whitmoore.
He didn't even get a chance to get to his room when he was invited to travel with Dark Harrier, Ishtara, Shadow Marshall, Nick Dent, and Stryk to the hospital and then to a small diner where they shared their origin stories. The others left in quick order, and he found himself paying the tab himself.
On his return from the diner, he found the deactivated Tick-Tok and watched Elumien fix the former Clockwork.
The next day, Riley went back to his base, gathered up the supplies he thought he'd need, and returned to the Whitmoore. While transporting his supplies, the elevator gave out. Mystic Inferno and the Dark Harrier helped him out. Unfortunately, five members of the Column followed the Dark Harrier to the Whitmoore, where he was helping Riley with a stalled elevator. The soldiers attacked. In the melee, Riley and Elumien were badly wounded, and two of the soldiers were killed.
Riley ended up in the hospital, but his commanding officer Captain Fletcher brought M-113 and healed the soldier almost instantly.
Tick-Tok found the information as to where the Clockwork King's new lair was. Gathering a force that included Elumien, Riley, and Dark Harrier, they headed back into Boomtown to find the base.Completely obsessed with his vengeance, Tick-Tok charged into the base and the heroes were fighting for their lives. As Tick-Tok battled the Clockwork King, the ceiling collapsed on them, and Elumien disappeared in the collapse. Riley, Tick-Tok and Dark Harrier struggled to the surface where Tick-Tok found his comatose body in a steel coffin.
When all the others left, Riley stayed behind, promising the Dark Harrier he wouldn't leave until he found Elumien. He also encountered Sol-Ar as he waited. Dark Harrier re-appeared, and they started looking more seriously for Elumien.
The trio returned to the Whitmoore to get reinforcements and a psychic who could track Elumien. Riley headed back upstairs and saw the ghost of a child in a black cloud on the fourth floor. As the ghost dove through the wall, Riley knocked on that room. The occupant, Nightingale, answered, and soon offers to help Riley find Elumien. |
