This happy partnership was sundered when Demetrios’s father caught a deadly alien infection while treating a hero named Commander Comet. Demetrios became obsessed with finding a cure for his ailing father. Sadly, after a harrowing, pain-wracked month, the elderly doctor died.

However, while desperately seeking a cure for his father, Demetrios delved into some of the highly experimental science and technology being developed by those on the fringe of medicine. After seeing these potentially dangerous advances, he became convinced that with more time he could have saved his father. Beyond his own selfish need to heal his father, he also felt certain that he could in fact save thousands, maybe millions of lives by curing every type of deadly disease that currently plagues the earth.

Despite these seemingly altruistic goals, his inability to save his father’s life snapped some small, vital piece of Demetrios’s psyche. No longer concerned with the wellbeing of his patients, he experienced a newfound freedom to pursue unethical and increasingly disturbing research. His need to examine new medical technologies drove Demetrios to perform grotesque medical experiments. These studies soon convinced him that the key was to find a way to perfect transplant surgery. The more of the old body that could be cut away and replaced with new flesh, the better.

This led down a sinister experimental path as he discovered new ways to animate and preserve flesh and organs. His brilliant mind further incorporated advances in engineering and computer science into his work, creating artificial systems to function with the transplanted body parts. It was not long before Demetrios had created his first Cadaver, a nearly brainless stitched together body of a dog that could move under its own power with the help of motors and simple machinery implanted in its body.

Although the work was already questionable, soon after creating this Cadaver dog, Demetrios went beyond the pale, killing a live person to further his research. At this point, his already unstable mind split completely and thus, Dr. Vahzilok was born. Within his fractured psyche, the desire to cure the world of disease was distorted. Believing his goal more important than the lives of those he sacrifices, Vahzilok the zombie master now has no qualms about killing innocents for his imagined “greater good.”

Still a true scientist, the doctor documents his horrifying experiments in great detail, sharing his research on underground web sites. Although reviled by the medical community, many twisted minds have begun building upon Vahzilok’s research, imitating his work by creating their own zombie hordes. Some of his more prodigious protégées have even gone public with their work, such as the infamous Facemaker who currently operates out of the Rogue Isles.

Now Vahzilok’s minions and imitators scour the city for bodies, blood, and organs, anything to aid this once great doctor whom is now driven by one nefarious and gruesome desire – the desire to master death itself.

At different times, Dr. Vahzilok has faced so many of heroes who populate Paragon City. Dark Harrier, Outpost and the Galaxy Rangers managed to stop Dr. Vahzilok from poisoning the Paragon City water supply.

The hero Flat Out managed to defeat Dr. Vahzilok, and has bragged about it, which irritated the doctor. When Erik Gregory Winslow came to Dr. Vahzilok with a proposal for vengeance on Flat Out, Dr. Vahzilok accepted. Joining with others, they took over LaGrange Hospital in Skyway where Flat Out went for a check up. Dr. Vahzilok caught Flat Out by surprise and captured him, but Flat Out escaped before he could be disected. Dr. Vahzilok is one of the few villains who escaped the hospital.

Dr. Vahzilok is currently at large.

History: This Doctor Vahzilok is the Dr. Vahzilok from the Praetorian dimension. He is the polar opposite of Dr. Vahzilok from this dimension. He and a Mechanical genious the Clockwork Wizard, worked day and night to rebuild the warp gate that lead back to this dimension. They got it working but before either of us could enter, Statesman and the Freedom Phalanx came through. They fought the evil Tyrant and brought Dr. Vahzilok with them.

This Professor has tried to lead a normal life. He got into teaching biology at Paragon University.

History: Vandal is a powerful villain in the Council.

The Voice of the Center is the Emissary of the Council's Center. He has recently approached Vandal, Nosferatu, and Requiem and told them that the Center was displeased with their progress, and that the Rogue Columns and the Rikti were getting too powerful. With very little effort, he threw Requiem across the room and badly bruised his chest.

History: A quiet person man of a few words who takes life extremely serious. This regimen of living was broken recently due to the new acquaintance he had made in Pandora. He didn't have the normal upbringing of most teengae boys as he ended up being with a mentor of a dark clan called the Shidao. An excellent fighter, Eirc was trained in the shadow arts and sent back to Paragon to right the wrongs done over 2 years ago. A man who would live his life in solitude if it was possible. However, since he can't he makes feeble attempts at socialization. Prefers the dark to anything and has just recently gained complete control of his powers. Was last seen in the Whitmoore apartments the day of the "spirits" incident. After that, he was no longer seen. For quite some time. He returned later in the vicinity of Paragon University after a fight for his spirit. Now he returns to probably answer a few questions and continue his reason for living.

Vengent and his mother, Alicia Browning, have discovered that his father, who they had believed had been killed, had instead been turned into a Paragon Protector.

History: Luis Amado was an Argentinian man of German descent. He was approached by a recruiter as a young man to join the Fifth Column, which he did.

Soon after arriving, Amado met and made a friendship with Archon Quo. Quo became his mentor and Amado became a loyal Quo man.

When the Council took over the Column, both Quo and Amado were captured.Amado was turned over to Herr Doktor and Nosferatu for the warwolf treatment. A miscalculation led to a mutation of the formula, and the warwolf turned green. Archon Quo escaped at about the same moment, and the two of them escaped Nosferatu's lab.

Setting up the Omega Cell of the Rogue Columns, Quo and Lobo set out to bring the Fifth Column back to the forefront and swore vengeance on the Council traitors. With the aid of the mechanical Android Psi, they created a portable base that could be torn down and set up anywhere underground. Lobo explored the underground tunnels of Boomtown extensively for safe locations to set up the portable base. The Omega Cell was fairly effective at disrupting the Council activties, and soon they were high on the wanted list.

Verde Lobo is familiar with Archon Quo's 'nephew,' Detective Scott Frost, although he doens't like him. Recently, after a meeting Frost, Quo and Lobo were attacked by a Crey controlled Blood Wolffe, which they just barely escaped.

Archon Quo went recruiting, trying to find someone who was charismatic enough to unite the various battling Rogue Columns. He found the old vampyre Yager and the monstrous warwolf the Fenris Project and his Handler. They invited the three to join their Omega Cell, but they were unaware that the Pumpkin King came along with the package. One of the Pumpkin King's plans cost the Omega Cell a Striga Island safehouse to a group of heroes and Metaforces, and only Naun'kom's quick save prevented Verde Lobo from being captured.

Verde Lobo was off closing down the base when the Handler betrayed him to the Council. The Council, Metaforces, and the Whitmoore heroes all converged on the old base at the same time. Corporal BJ Kerkove managed to shoot Lobo in the shoulder, and Nosferatu, who was among the Council members who were trying to capture the Omega Cell, nearly captured the green warwolf. Lobo teleported away to safety, but nearly all of the Omega Cell soldiers were killed.

Verde Lobo and thirty remaining Omega soldiers were teleported to Naun'Kom's base beneath Galaxy City.
