History: When when she was twelve on a visit
to relatives in Belfast, her mother was killed in an IRA firebombing
of a restaurant which Bernadette survived when her powers
manifested, allowing her to go intangible. There are various
news articles about the event out there and the miraculous
survival of a twelve year old girl and Bernadette has talked
about it a few times in interviews, though it is apparent
it is a painful subject for her.
After that dramatic event there is then nothing almost
nothing for five years. No records of schools attended or
anything. Bernadette has never discussed what she was doing
over those five years in much detail in interviews other
than saying she way privately tutored and receiving singing
lessons. No one has figured out what she was doing during
that period, though there are several “conspiracy”
type theories, often put out by superhero fanboys.
Then, when she was 17, she appears in Paragon City as a
student at Paragon High School where she quickly became
involved in a group of teenage heroes called CAST, a team
that was backed by the Powers Corporation (a company that
was heavily involved in superhuman research of all kinds
as well as development of advanced weapons for the US government).
One early event after her first appearances in Paragon City
that has been little publicized was the Powers Corporation
and Edwards’ Enterprise (the corporation that backs
Team-1, another Paragon City superteam) paying for damages
to the owner of Mc’Gilly’s pub for the extensive
damage caused when Bernadette apparently attacked an Irish
hero named Rook (a member of Team-1) in the pub. There are
some rumors that Rook once had some connection to the IRA
before coming to the US. But whatever cause the fight between
Bernadette and Rook it was short lived as since that point
they have been seen together several times, both in and
out of superhero work and appear to have a relationship
akin to a big brother/little sister one.
Other than the many menaces that CAST faced during their
short existence, the other biggest event for Bernadette’s
life from membership in that team was her year long and
very public relationship with a fellow team member, Alex
Young, one of the only other members who’s identity
was public. The relationship came to an end when Bernadette
left for California to start her singing career and she
has stated before that their relationship ended because
of differences between them as to the direction they wished
their lives to go. Not long after the breakup, Alex was
institutionalized for a short time, but later released.
He and Bernadette have been seen together at times since
then, and she has stated in interviews that they are still
good friends.
Then of course there would be tons of interviews with her
over the last two years in newspapers and magazines from
all over the world (but the majority being US and British
ones). There are several official photo shots with her in
Rolling Stone, Vogue, Maxim and other similar magazines
(though she has turned down offers for shoots from Playboy).
She is also know to be good friends with Avril Lavigne and
the two are supposed to be working on a joint holiday album.
Recently Bernadette has been seen with various superheroes
who are also attending Paragon University.

History: Lawrence 'Larry' Chatwood was an electronics prodigy. His father was one of the leading researchers investigating the Clockwork. He was doing research on the workings of the Clockwork until one was able to get a signal out to the greater Clockwork mind. The experiment his father was working on went terribly wrong, and Larry found himself in the body of a Clockwork but unable to overcome the powerful mind of the Clockwork King.
For five years he worked under the rule of the Clockwork-King, and gained himself the name "Tick-Tok". He stole and killed. Following the King's commands, he and other Clockwork attacked Crey labs, and he was thrown into a garbage heap..
He was taken in by Necronus,
a hero with his own vendetta against the Clockwork. They
decided to stay at the Whitmoore and that's when Tick-Tok's
true tale began.
Necronus was killed by the Clockwork King, and Tick-Tok
was at loose ends. After the battle, he found a substance
that may help him fight against the Clockwork.
Despite the intense dislike Ishtara
had demonstrated towards the little mechanical, he followed
her, Dark Harrier,
Nicholas Dent,
and Shadow Marshall
to the bar the Flaming Moe. While at the Flaming Moe, a
group of Hellions attacked Dent, and during the fight, Necronus
reappeared alive.
Tick-Tok joined the group in going after Oscar, Dent's
mentor. He was the only one of the group who knew that the
Paragon Stalker was back in control of Shadow Marshall's
body, but knew none of the heroes would believe him, so
he kept it to himself.
Tick Tok joined Dent's group to help him defeat his former
Outcast mentor Oscar.
He was surprised when Dent nearly killed Oscar, but he was
not aware that the Shadow Marshall had killed another Outcast.
The Zigg morgue called Dark Harrier and let him know about the dead Outcast. He and Tick-Tok went to the morgue where Tick-Tok revealed that it had been the possessed Shadow Marshall who had killed the Outcast.
Through some quick detective work, he, Tick-Tok, Dent, and Elumien figure out that the body belonged to the Paragon Stalker, and that currently the Stalker and Ishtara are out playing pool. The heroes start planning how to get the Marshall back in the body, and how to keep Ishtara safe.
The Stalker was 'playing' with Ishtara, trying to lull her into complete relaxation to fully betray her and to see it in her eyes as he killed her, but she received a mental call from Elumien, and they hurried back to the Whitmoore.
While guarding the roof to make sure nothing interfered with the spell and to make sure the Paragon Stalker did not escape that way, Tick-Tok's memory of his human life came back to him. He swore vengeance on the Clockwork and their king. He went out to fight the Clockwork, but a couple princes teamed up on him, and Tick-Tok barely escaped.
Tick-Tok was returning to the Whitmoore when he was hit by a car. He managed to crawl his way to the Whitmoore. Master Sergeant Gevin Riley saw him there and called to have the Clockwork picked up, but Elumien was able to see the human soul within the robotic body. Elumien rebooted the Clockwork body, and Chatwood was able to tell his story. Elumien managed to stop the hero Mountain Blitz from destroying the Clockwork with a soul.
Tick-Tok found the information as to where the Clockwork King's new lair was. Gathering a force that included Elumien, Riley, and Dark Harrier, they headed back into Boomtown to find the base. Completely obsessed with his vengeance, Tick-Tok charged into the base and the heroes were fighting for their lives. As Tick-Tok battled the Clockwork King, the ceiling collapsed on them, and Elumien disappeared in the collapse. Tick-Tok and Dark Harrier struggled to the surface where Tick-Tok found his comatose body in a steel coffin. Tick-Tok managed to dig down far enough to see Elumien disappear into a rift with a Banished Pantheon Spirit of Pain.
After Necronus left Tick-Tok became a real boy. Lawrence
Chatwood was his name but he liked to go by Larry. Using
some technology someone owed him from past savings he made
himself some new armour which increased his power tenfold.
Now today he is one of the long time residents of the Whitmoore.
Tick-Tok also enrolled in Paragon University where he took
classes from Brother
Psyche. |

History:
Tang Tub Ci (perhaps originally Tub Xi?), was born
in Laos in 1960. His family was among the Hmong minority population,
many of whom were caught between American forces and the North
Vietnamese Army. By age 10 Tub Ci was displaced, his village
destroyed in one of any endless sorties. He appeared out of
the blue one day within a US camp; somehow this tiny, skinny
kid, half-starved, shirtless and shoeless, had snuck across
a minefield and into the base.
A number of soldiers recounted how they took a liking to
him. They fed him and clothed him, calling him “Tubby”
because he was so rail-thin. Perhaps Tub Ci wanted to pay
the soldiers back for their kindness, or possibly he wanted
to lash out at the Vietnamese invaders he saw tearing up
his homeland, but Tub Ci led a group of US soldiers to a
hidden Vietnamese camp near where his village had once lay.
When they told him they had destroyed the base, apparently
his only response was to give a shy little smile.
No matter how often he was chased off the base by various
officers, Tub Ci always found his way back. He proved himself
several times over by acting as a guide and scout for the
soldiers who liked him best; and he learned everything he
could from them, from English to gambling at cards to learning
how to fight.
When the US forces withdrew in 1975, Tub Ci was 15 and
had spent a third of his life studying soldiers. What all
he learned in that dirty, secret war may never be known,
but he had a clear destiny in mind – he had to get
to America, which was where his fortune and future lay.
By the end of that
year Tub Ci had managed to scam and save enough money for
a plane ticket and forged documents, and he landed in Paragon
City. Despite having no destination and neither friends nor
family awaiting him, by the end of his first night he was
prowling the streets and alleys of Little Asia in Siren’s
Call, and had a job. At first, Tub Ci took on any employment
he could – dishwasher, cook, janitor, messenger, anything.
Although “fresh off the plane,” his survival instincts
and linguistic fluency served him well. Ostensibly hired as
menial labor in a large Chinese restaurant, he was quick to
realize the business was a front for a Triad gambling den,
and the bosses recognized his potential. Soon Tub Ci was running
messages, acting as a lookout, and even carrying payoffs.
Tub Ci moved from one gang to another in those years, as
opportunities arose for promotion and as different groups
fell to a variety of costumed heroes. Although he felt some
affinity for his own people, as a displaced orphan he could
also be described as “rootless,” and some profilers
have suggested this helped him move freely between different
gangs.
It was only a matter of time before Tub Ci was arrested
and ended up in the Zigursky Penitentiary. Inside, his battlefield
and gangland experience helped him prove how hardcore he
was. Tub Ci’s two-year sentence for drug running was
extended by another eight years after he killed an inmate
in a prison-yard brawl.
During his years inside, Tub Ci came across another Hmong
prisoner – the older Pha Xiong, who had also lived
through the Vietnam War and had fought with the French in
the 50s and 60s. Pha Xiong was serving a life-sentence for
murder in the first degree. His file is incomplete, but
it appears he was a deadly master of martial arts, and known
to have certain mystical powers.
Tub Ci spent several
years in Pha Xiong’s company. Pha Xiong was known to
most inmates as the “go to” guy for the wildest
prison-yard tattoos, although the art he practiced on most
inmates was of a common variety, paling in comparison to what
he was truly capable of. His true art tapped into ancient
magical traditions, and allowed the fusion of spirit and body
through the tattoos. Tub Ci studied under Pha Xiong, and over
the months he grew to learn a path to power.
At some point Pha Xiong shared most if not all of his secrets
with Tub Ci. The greatest of which was the key to the tattoos
of power. Each tattoo is inscribed by hand, similar to the
Japanese irezumi style, and uses a special ink infused with
rare Chinese herbs and catalyzed by the blood of the wearer’s
enemies. Preparation of the materials is believed to be
a long and involved process, but somehow Pha Xiong was able
to do so even under the eyes of the warden, and it is suspected
that he initiated Tub Ci into this sinister practice.
When Tub Ci was released in 1995, he was even more firmly
plugged into Paragon’s underworld than ever before.
Now his intelligence and fighting skills had been honed
to a razor sharp edge, and this was enhanced by newfound
mystical arts. Other people knew of Pha Xiong, and it was
clear that Tub Ci was his heir – they sought him out
to learn, and to work on his behalf.
Tub Ci zealously guards the secrets of his power, teaching
his followers only after they have proved themselves time
and time again. He is proud and self-reliant, potentially
to the point of his own demise. Tub Ci knows more about
the currents of Paragon City than he lets on, but he is
convinced he and only he can lead his people to glory.
When Mark Hanson (SteelDragon)
received training from the Tsoo and then betrayed them,
Tub Ci okayed the death sentence on Hanson and his family.
The Hanson family was killed, but Mark escaped.
Tub Ci recently
was told that Mark Hanson was SteelDragon by Erik
Gregory Winslow. He joined the group of villains on
a revenge mission, but he did not follow the timing set
down by Winslow. Instead, Tub Ci led his Tsoo warriors against
Winslow's targets, which did not happen to include SteelDragon.
Tub Ci was defeated by the EmeraldClaymore,
Thevshi, and Hollow.
He was sent to the Zig where he was freed by Peg.
He was present at the LaGrange Hospital takeover. He led
the attack on the heroes entering the lobby, and was defeated
by Mithril Zeta
and Hollow.
