History: Obsidian Omega is the last of his race. They had an underground civilization. They eat stone (Omega prefers marble). They are also very sensitive to any form of light. They were a pacifisitc race. Omega did have a child.

Omega has a very strong connection with the Earthmother, the spirit of the earth. He is sensitive to other earth controllers.

The Circle of Thorns invaded the civilization and started destroying Omega's people, including his child. He fled and was found by seven elders of his people. They took him to a hall of crystal and the elders cast a spell to strengthen him. Their spirits joined with his and filled him with rage and magma. To save him, the Earthmother power pushed him up towards the upworld.

After the death of his people, Omega went into hiding and stayed in a cave for three months. When he finally emerged, he was found by an Englishman named Jonny who helped Omega get settled in the 'upworld.' He directed Omega to the Whitmoore Apartment building.

Omega moved into the Whitmoore Apartments on the same day as several other heroes, including Nicholas Dent, AKA Flamer/Point.Blank. He sensed a kindred wounded soul in Dent. When Dent was attacked by members of Dent's former gang the Outcasts, Omega helped him. He discovered that he was especially sensitive to the Outcast Bricks earth control and could sense how they hurt the Earthmother. He went berserk and killed the leader of that group of Outcasts, Jack the Lead Brick. He was shocked at his own actions, but the calming voice of the Earthmother soothed him.

Omega and Dent, joined by Experiment 2.0 went looking for food for Omega. They went to a deserted warehouse to find marble chips, and found instead Babbage. In the midst of the fight, Omega accidentally released Dr. Radfire from his stone prison. All the heroes escaped with Omega and Dent crashed into the sewers. They returned to the Whitmoore.

The next morning, Obsidian used the power of the Earthmother to create a cavern beneath the basement of the Whitmoore, much to the shock and irritation of Mr. Green.

History: Oscar was an Outcast whose home base was Steel Canyon. He took the young Nicholas Dent under his wing, stealing him away from the Hellions. He raised Dent as if he was his own son, and had plans for the two of them taking the Outcasts over.

Oscar's turf expanded to include a skyscraper in Boomtown. He became the head trainer of the fire using Outcasts.

When Dent got caught and became a registered hero, Oscar put a $100,000 bounty out on Dent's head. Dent was nearly killed a couple different times.

Dent eventually came to Oscar's Boom Town tower. The two flame users attacked each other, and eventually Dent ran Oscar through. Dent believed Oscar was dead, but the Dark Harrier found that Oscar was holding on by a thread. The Harrier sent Oscar to the Zigg.

Gregory had been sailing his whole life, making runs around the Agean Sea with his father. Learning how to read the waves, clouds, sun, and stars was his life from the time he could run a line up the jib. The major routes that his father's merchant company had owned were as ingrained into his memory as the calouses on his hands. Trade goods from Naxos to Melos, Aegina to Thera, Paros to Athens, and Cythera to Rhodes flowed under his father's watchful eye and stewardship. Olive oil, timber, gold and silver, iron ore, bauxite, live goods and even the occasional passenger or family.

There was even time for schooling and instruction. Especially during the more turbulant winter months. Entranced by the bedtime stories that his father would tell him, Gregory learned how to sketch and draw plans to build scale, one person crafts of the great ships of Troy and Sparta. Drinking in the lore of his homeland, he built a model of the ship of Jason of Iolcus and named it "The Beta Argo"

It was not difficult to find the lumber for the boat. A recent wind storm had blown down several hardwoods near the shore. Gregory took an axe, trimmed the limbs off, and then sectioned them with an old buck saw. Using his neighbor's draft team, he was able to manipulate the heavy timbers closer to the beach. Then he set about barking the wood, curing it and then cutting it up to make his ship.
